Japan Media Arts Festival screens Iran animation ‘Light Sight’

Iranian short animation ‘Light Sight’ competes at the 20th Japan Media Arts Festival.

Iranian short animation ‘Light Sight’ has competed at the 20th Japan Media Arts Festival.

Directed by Moslem Tabatabaee, the short animation was Iran’s only representative at the event.

“The animation has one character and one setting,” Tabatabaee told the media, adding that, “The character tries to escape from the room to get to the light he sees outside."

The 3D animation has won awards in ten other international festivals before.

It won the best 3D animation award at the Social Machinery Film Festival in Italy earlier this year.

The Japan Media Arts Festival is a comprehensive festival of Media Arts that honors outstanding works from a diverse range of media - from animation and comics to media art and games.

The festival gives awards in each of its four divisions: Art, Entertainment, Animation, and Manga.
